Country Representative Caritas Czech Republic

Job title: Country Representative (CR) Accountable to: Regional Coordinator (RC) of Caritas Czech Republic (CCR) Assigns tasks to: project managers, administrators/partners when authorized by the RC Based in: Torit, South Sudan, travelling around the Eastern Equatoria State Language requirements: English excellent. (Czech language skills are welcome, but not required) Key duties and responsibilities 1. External relations

• Important responsibilities of CR are representation of CCR in the country and in absence of people responsible for the projects (regional coordinator, program/project manager), building external relations with different stakeholders, promoting visibility of CCR program in South Sudan and networking

Responsibilities of CR in relation with:

• Czech Embassy (after consideration the Regional coordinator can share with ORS/ZÚ Addis Abeba)
• Meets the Embassy representative when needed and proposed by either of the respective parties
• Notifies the Embassy on major events that took place in the scope of the projects implemented when relevant and/or inform the embassy about the overall progress (submits monthly project activity plans received from the partners)
• Is present at monitoring actions carried out by the Embassy when required

Donors

• Gets in touch and meets new potential donors after preliminary agreement and in coordination with the Program Manager
• Be involved in frequent communication with representatives of ECHO, EC, UN OCHA, etc.

Potential partners

• Gets in touch and meets new potential partners after preliminary agreement and in coordination with the Regional Manager

2. Project management

• Provides support to partner organizations if needed, not the main responsibility
• Responsible for specific agendas of projects (according to instructions of Regional Coordinator)
• Solves problems related to project implementation
• If necessary conducts regular project monitoring
• Attends the key projects’ events

3. Program development

• Monitoring of informational sources concerning the situation in the field of employment of in South Sudan, monitoring of state policy
• Identification of potential areas of intervention in the country
• Identification and formulation of new projects in cooperation with CCR team
• Conduct need assessment and data collection for new projects if applicable with potential partners
• Monitoring of local call for proposals
• Identification of new partner organizations, networking
• Establishment of joint program with other Caritas members, other NGOs and donors attending workshops, conferences and other relevant events organized by other NGOs and donors
• Fundraising from local resources (small scale embassies projects, companies …)
• Informing about situation in the country (region) relevant to spheres of projects intervention

4. CCR development in the country

• Establishment and supervision on current project realized by Caritas Czech Republic in South Sudan
• Coordination of interventions with other Caritas members in the country
• Establishment of Caritas Czech Republic representation in the country
• Monitoring of governmental and legal procedures (registration, work permits, ID cards, project agreements etc.)
