Our times are characterized by the growing impacts of climate and other environmental crises, armed conflicts, including the war in Ukraine, and the ensuing food crisis in fragile regions of the world, especially in areas of great importance to the EU – Africa and Middle East.
The conference, organised on the occasion of the Czech Presidency of the EU Council, provides an opportunity to highlight the importance of development cooperation and the role of civil society as a key element in strengthening the resilience of local communities in developing countries to respond to an increasingly unstable situation.
